We’re looking forward to Saturday 2 July when we’ll be hosting the live Student Champs grand finals on campus. Schools and Colleges from across the country will be playing a series of matches in an effort to be crowned League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League and Valorant champions.
Student Champs is a series of competitive grassroots video game tournaments, designed by British Esports for students aged 12+ and and open to all secondary schools, Further Education (FE) colleges and Alternative Provision (AP) schools throughout the UK. From over 700 teams across the UK competing in the Winter and Spring seasons throughout 2021/22, only the final 20 remain to battle it out in the live grand finals.
This year the finals are spreads across two days from Saturday 2 July to Sunday 3 July and they’ll give student teams the experience of performing on stage to a live audience, as well as to thousands more online viewers via the British Esports Twitch channel. Many of our esports production students will be supporting the live broadcast plus our student ambassadors, technical and event crews will be on hand to ensure the day runs smoothly.
The packed schedule includes the AoC Sport FIFA 22 Cup and a showmatch from the Xbox Invitational of Natspec colleges, not to mention some keynote speakers, arcade games and wider activities for spectators and finalists to enjoy.
Tickets for the event are FREE and are now available on the 2022 British Esports Student Champs finals event page, which includes the full event schedule. Both ‘Weekend’ (2-day) passes are available as well as individual ‘Day’ spectator tickets.
Doors will open from 9am for finalists and 10am for spectators, or tune in from home, live from 10:30am on Saturday 2 July.
Good luck to everyone taking part!
