The live broadcast will be led entirely by our students and will take place from Monday 4 December to Thursday 7 December. Read on to find out more and make sure you tune in!
Delivered by our partners, NUEL a grassroots esports tournament organiser and part of GGTech Entertainment, the Winter Finals is the conclusion of seven thrilling weeks, that saw over 5,000 student competitors from university teams in the UK and Ireland compete for thousands of pounds in prize money. The top teams who made it to this stage will compete in four tournaments featuring popular esports titles: Overwatch 2, VALORANT, and League of Legends.
The broadcast will be ran entirely by our Esports Production degree students which is a fantastic opportunity for them to ’Do It For Real’ and put their skills into practice. This term in particular, NUEL have a record number of Confetti students working on their remote broadcasts. Taking place in a professional studio environment, the upcoming Winter Finals will further level-up their production experience transferable to other screen industries like TV and film.
Head over to NUEL’s Twitch channel to catch all the action – the schedule for the Grand Finals matches is as follows:
- Monday 4 December 6pm, Overwatch 2 (best-of-seven)
- Tuesday 5 December 6pm, Women and Non-binary VALORANT (best-of-five)
- Wednesday 6 December 6pm, League of Legends (best-of-five)
- Thursday 7 December 6pm, Open VALORANT (best-of-five)
The event will mark the end of the UNIVERSITY Esports UK and IRE Winter 23 Leaderboard, in which every competing team across the tournaments can contribute to their university ranking through wins in UNIVERSITY Esports tournaments.
