What do we mean by inter-faith?
The term ‘inter-faith’ refers to how people of different faiths, and even those with no faith, interact with each other.
By spending time learning about other’s faiths and cultures, we gain a deeper understanding of the people around us and it contributes to the creation of an inclusive environment for all.
We encourage everyone to be open minded to different religions and those who have no faith, in your daily interactions with people.
Activities for Inter-Faith Week
The Salvation Army are running their annual Christmas toy collection. You can get involved by dropping off any toys, game or books for children and young people (ages 0-18) to Student Services by Monday 2 December.
The Home away from home group in London will be hosting a session on 12 November focused on ‘Faith in Unity: Celebrating Diversity and Tackling Islamophobia’. This will take place in the London Social Space, 4pm-5pm.
On Wednesday 13 November, 5.30pm-7.30pm, NTU are hosting an inter-faith event – ‘Faith to build character’– in Lecture Theatre 8, Newton Building, NTU City Campus. You’ll hear from diverse faith representatives as they discuss the role of faith in shaping moral character and navigating today’s challenges. Book your place.
In our local community
Did you know that both our Nottingham and London campuses are situated close to many places of worship. If you’re looking for somewhere to practice your faith near to where you study, take a look at the lists below. We’ve included all the places of worship that are no more than a 30 minute walk away. A print out map version of this list is also available from Student Services.
