Music Performance student Freddie invited to play during panto at Derby Arena

After impressing his tutors during the academic year, our Level 3 Music Performance student Freddie has been asked to join a theatre performance in Stafford and play in the Derby Arena panto this Christmas.

Towards the end of the last academic year, Confetti music performance tutor and musical director Dave Culling began work on his new show “Take me to the world” at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.

As part of the musical composition, a talented keyboard player was needed to fulfil the role of 2nd keyboard. From previous experience of working with Freddie Hackett, now a L3 music performance graduate, Dave got in touch with Freddie and offered him the opportunity to perform in the show, citing his musical talents, ability to read music well, and his professionalism when working with others. Freddie had previously played piano on John Miles’ video “Music”, which Dave had run as a tutor group activity at Confetti.

Freddie immediately jumped at the chance to be part of “Take me to the world”, and in recent weeks got straight down to practicing the piece and taking part in technical and dress rehearsals, before delivering phenomenal performances during the shows which took place  at the end of August.

“I would have no hesitation in hiring him again and have asked him to come and sit in on the Derby Arena pantomime this Christmas, he is a credit to Confetti”.
