Running from 14 November-20 December, Disability History Month is all about celebrating the achievements of disabled people and the progress that has been made in achieving equality, as well as highlighting where inclusivity still needs improving.
It’s important to remember that not all disabilities are visible either.

Join the Home away from home group in the London Social Space on 26 November, 4pm-5pm to take part in a discussion – ‘Breaking Barriers: Disability History Month and Awareness’.
Our campus screens will spotlight on inspirational, disabled people throughout the month.

MIND is a mental health charity. Mind offers information and advice for those with mental ill health and supports with lobbying government and authorities on their behalf.
Tower of Hamlets Recovery College
Tower of Hamlets Recovery College is an NHS service that runs free educational workshops and courses. These courses are designed and delivered by people who have lived experience of mental health challenges, together with people who work in mental health services.
The Hamlets Talking Therapies provides a range of psychological therapies and counselling services.
Adult Autism Service (Tower Hamlets)
The Tower Hamlets Autism Service is a diagnostic and brief intervention service for adults living in Tower Hamlets. They provide assessments and diagnoses of autism spectrum conditions.
London Autism Group Charity is dedicated to helping anyone in London and its neighbouring counties with an interest in Autism.
Tower Hamlets Community Learning Disabilities Service
Tower Hamlets Community Learning Disabilities Service work with adults with Learning Disabilities in Tower Hamlets , they work in hospital, home and college.
Nottingham:
Citizens Advice Nottingham and District Autism Service
This service is Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s specialist signposting service, commissioned specifically to support autistic people aged 16 and over who are awaiting diagnosis.
As a leading autism charity we exist to ensure autistic people can live their lives with dignity, choice and independence.
Local mental health advice and help for young people in Nottinghamshire.
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies is a free and confidential NHS service designed to help with common mental health problems such as stress, anxiety and depression. Anyone aged 18 years or over and registered with a GP can access support, though a GP referral is not necessary as you can self-refer.
Supporting those living with Bipolar Disorder, their friends and family in Nottingham/shire. We provide a national free telephone support service to those in need, but will only provide free face-to-face meetings with bipolar disorder sufferers in the Nottingham/Nottinghamshire area.

The Calm Zone is a mental health charity which focuses on suicide prevention and they have a helpline which is available every day. They listen, they talk, and they help people.
