‘Out of this world’ Christmas party – the highlights

Friday December 13, 2019

On Tuesday 10 December, our Level 3 Technical Events students planned and held a fantastic Christmas party at Metronome. The theme was ‘out of this world’, with space-y decorations and some amazing guest performers – it was a seriously special night.

All of our students had a great time, enjoying performances from the likes of Fading Blonde and Cashstack, our classic battle of the bands between our staff and students, not to mention our surprise guest. Here are some of the highlights…

(Inter)stellar decorations

At Confetti, we love a theme – and it’s safe to say, we took the ‘out of this world’ brief pretty seriously.

A giant spaceman cutout with a face hole? Space-themed video games? A ‘launch schedule’ set list for the night? We had it all – with burritos and drinks vouchers to boot.

Check out some of the great photos from the night below…

Space for surprise

We don’t like doing things by halves. That’s why we surprised students with the amazing DJ Darkzy; former Confetti student who now attracts thousands of fans at his gigs. Darkzy has sold out gigs at Rock City, wowed crowds at Glastonbury and done sets in Ibiza. So when he turned up to perform for students, there were some very happy customers!

Other acts included the exciting and distinctive Fading Blonde – an eclectic indie rock band from Nottingham – and Cashstack, who put on a fantastic performance for students up on the Metronome stage.

The atmosphere in Metronome’s venue was something really special – this really was the best year yet for student Christmas parties.

The night finished with a big old rave – because how better to see out the year?

But don’t take our word for it – let these photos do the talking…

We meant what we said – this party really was the best on record. Everyone we spoke to had a great time, and we’re excited to start planning the 2020 party already.

We want to say a massive thank you, congratulations and well done to our Technical Events students who’ve worked so hard to put on this event.

Here’s to next year’s event!
