We’re delighted to announce that our partners Nottingham Trent University have been named University of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards 2017. These prestigious annual awards celebrate the outstanding contributions and achievements of UK universities. The title of University of the Year is the most coveted honour available.
As a student of Confetti this means you’re studying at an institution that has also:
- been named Modern University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide
- has been awarded the highest honour – Gold in the Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)
- gained an 89% satisfaction rating in the National Student Satisfaction Survey
Judges at the event commended NTU’s innovative and systematic approach to enabling students to fulfil their academic potential and, in particular, the University’s commitment to supporting students from less privileged backgrounds.
This tops off what has been a phenomenal year in terms of recognition for the exceptional work which is being done every day at NTU.
Each year we go off timetable for a week of workshops, lectures and masterclasses, delivered by top names from across Film, TV, Music and Games. As part of this year’s exclusive Industry Week we’ve had workshops with award-winning documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield, a performance from world renowned DJ – DJ Yoda and advice from PlayStation Community Manager Hollie Bennett! This really is a one of a kind event, exclusive to Confetti students!
We’re part of Nottingham Trent University which means you get the best of both worlds, the experience of working in a close-knit creative community and the benefits of being a student at one of the country’s biggest universities.

Course work is based on establishing your own focused question and then developing a project that aims at challenging conventions in the use of creative technologies. This project should be a ‘live’ project negotiated with a tutor and industry practitioner that reflects real-life, audience facing, creative technology challenges. You will produce your own project plan, identifying how you wish to use creative technologies in developing your own practice, ultimately impacting your potential career in the creative industries.
You will be taught by lecturers who are experts in the field of creative technologies and by guest industry practitioners.
At Confetti you’ll be part of a community full of talented, inspirational creatives. Studying alongside students with the same goals means instant squad! We’ve seen loads of our students start their own businesses with classmates. So not only will you study with friends, work with our tutors on high profile projects but you’ll generally have a great time being part of a creative community.
We also know how to party! Last year we took over Nottingham’s super cool Broad Street for Fresh, our Christmas parties are legendary and DJ Yoda just played our Industry Week after show party, need we say more?
Nottingham is home to some brilliant music venues, cinemas, independent shops and festivals – the city is electric! We take to the streets to party for loads of events including Dot to Dot Festival, Hockley Hustle, Light Night or if one of our local sports teams are playing.
You’ll never be short of things to do in Nottingham and if the parents come to visit you can always take them for a nice day out at Wollaton Hall (Batman’s place)!
