Go beyond with industry experience…
We believe that it’s vital to gain valuable industry experience while you learn on the course. It gives you the chance to test your new skills and knowledge on real life situations, network with industry professionals, and prepares you for a career after education. Find out some of the opportunities regularly provided below.
Each year, our students provide help at the Confetti stage and across the festival, crewing, performing, photographing and filming – amongst other things! This year was no exception, with a grand total of 50 students coming to work for the day, 106 across the whole event, accruing 900 hours of work between them all – an incredible amount of work experience.
Students work with local businesses
Our students have worked with lots of local companies over the years, applying what they learn to real industry briefs. From creating video content for local clothing store Mimm to having their concept art made into playable assets by games company Lockwood for their game Avakin Life.
Local director, actor and stuntman, Adam Collins, and our former TV & Film tutor, Luke Radford, directed the action feature film ‘Outlawed’ which released on Netflix this year. Over 100 Confetti students past and present supported a variety of professional crews on and off set. They gained valuable experience working with experienced teams in some exciting roles, including acting, supporting SFX & VFX, camera ops and more.
