Need help with your personal statement?

Tuesday January 10, 2017

We’re counting down the days until the UCAS final deadline on Sunday 15 January! Check out our blog daily for the latest advice and handy tips.

Hopefully you’ll have started your application by now, but if not – don’t worry, you still have time. It’s really important that you meet the application deadline, otherwise your application will be submitted late and that won’t make for a great first impression!

We thought we’d help you out with your personal statement, as once this section is out of the way you’re nearly ready to submit. This is your chance to show your passion, ambition and skills for your chosen subject. You’ve got 4000 characters to do this and it might take a few drafts to get it right. UCAS have a handy tool on their website that allows you to answer questions which then structure your statement – the questions are everything the university will want and need to know, so this is an easy way to make sure you don’t miss out anything important.

Make sure you’ve told us –

  • Why you’re interested in the subject
  • Your enthusiasm for the course area
  • How your previous studies relate to the course
  • Any jobs, placements, work experience or volunteering you’ve had in the creative industries
  • Activities or hobbies
  • Achievements that show your skills

Don’t be afraid to show off, we want to know it all! It’ll give us a good idea of who you are and what you want to achieve, which will inform our decision to offer you a place on a degree course at Confetti .

Good luck!
